Helping courgettes 'get into their stride'
« on: May 26, 2011, 08:36 »
I know i'll be sick of them in a couple of months, but i'd like to help pollenate my courgettes.

I've had two female flowers open but no guys!!

I know they will get going soon enough, but does anyone do anything to help them along?

Liv.

Plenty of sunshine, water and a bit of time,

I find that i generally get male flowers around a week before the female flowers begin to come.

Think of it as courgette puberty ::) it takes a while for things to settle down, but after that they just do what comes naturally.
Although sometimes they need a hand   little guidance with pollination
