24 degrees here in Herts, you can't please all the people all the time. We've had no rain for a couple of month's now. Send some up here.

The local blackbird and thrush have picked mine clean again  :( They didn't even wait until there was colour in the berries this year.

We've just had the most almighty downpour accompanied by thunder, lightening etc (so hard I ran out an collected in my tomatoes that are supposed to be 'hardening off' for fear they would be flattened) but if you look out my window now (apart from the fact everything is soaking) you'd never know it - the suns out again!

Not far from you :). we had quite heavy rain here yesterday morning but nowhere near enough though :(. Why can't we have nice steady rain by night and sun by day. Then we'd all be happy :D :D

It absolutely bucketed down here in North Cheshire.
So much so that I had to sit in my car outside my house waiting for it to stop because the 5 metre dash to the front door would have soaked me.

Put my BNS and Crown Price squashes on the plot over the weekend and they are looking very very sorry for themselves. Don't think they will survive so I have sown another  batch of both today.

Next year will not sow squashes until early / mid May, regardless of how nice the weather has been in April.

Well thunder and lightening not a problem; hail is bad stuff; violent rain not too bad unless the ground is concrete and it bounces off.

I've been sodden once with one of them showers and am not sure I even want to go and inspect the damage this evening. Tomorrow morning looks a better bet and I can't do anything now even if the plot is flattened.

what a mixed bag! I put some bits and bobs out to start hardening off this morning as it was bright and sunny, next thing i knew it was torrential down pour) my previously empty water butt has now filled and overflowed, and then it was gloriously sunny, all in the space of half an hour! I'll be suprised if anything at the allotment has managed to stay upright, could have done with a more gentle reminder of what this water out of the sky thing is... ;) finally some relief after around 9 weeks without.

I hope it's coming this way then. We had a bit of rain early Sunday morning but it was all dried out a couple of hours later. Can't actually remember the last time we got more than a few drops. My watering can arm is getting some exercise though.
