when we saw the one in the run the other day we put 1 of the dogs in and closed the door, it didnt last more than a few seconds.

Not sure I agree with this. Whilst I understand shooting them as it would be quick,  to put a dog in and to attack is quite barbaric.
Considering how quickly threads got locked about foxes on here - how did this one manage to thrive?

Pest control needs to be done and for small mammals you do not get a quicker cleaner kill than with a jack russell in a confined area.

This thread has stayed open because (until now at least) it has remained civil.

I have my eye on it, and I WILL lock the thread if it deteriorates.

Oh are you allowed to shoot them ?   :( Personally don't have a problem with them i have hens and the squirrels come in the garden never known them take the eggs not noticed them take the birds either.

Im pretty sure if you catch one, even in a "humane trap" by law you have to put it down.  To let it go in another area is actually against the law.

We haven’t had much of a problem at this house, where i used to live we were encouraged to help control the population as there were pockets of Reds left and re introducing programs going on in the area.

Regrettably it didn’t work and all the reds vanished :(

I'm sorry if I have offended anyone, that wasnt my intention.

I'm also sorry if you find my methods barbaric, however thats not how I think of myself.

I can asure you that a terrier killing a rodent is as different from a pack of dogs killing a fox as you can get. It is VERY quick, quicker than a mis-placed shot that leave an animal needing finished.

However, I know this is a sensitive subject that not everyone will agree on, so I suggest we leave it here.

Discussion finished.

Good decision as outlooks do differ. Thanks.  ;)

No offence taken by anyone I'm sure.  Just a little bit of not understanding.

I've locked the topic as you no longer want it to continue.
