A belter of a storm here yesterday afternoon around 5pm. Skies darkened out of nowhere and lightning, thunder and HAIL!! I haven't seen storm hail for years now so it was a real treat from a purely meteorological sense. It hasn't done my plants much good though, it's hammered them flat. My leeks were outdoors and are now horizontal as were a whole tray of plum tomato plants. they look very sorry for themselves. I'm hoping they'll recover in the sunshine today but i think the tomatoes have had it...  :(

It filled my water butt up though. It's a 200l one and was a quarter full, it's now to the brim!

I've been led to believe it only rains on the righteous, hence not a single drop here in sunny old Mountnessing.
We have no mains water on our plots butt  I've still got over 2,000 litres in store.  :D

NO rain but lots of clouds - sort of headachy, thundery feeling to the air.

Lots of thundery clouds yesteday, about a minute of heavy rain drops then it stopped boo! I can't remember the last time it rained, I'm getting fed up of watering the plants in the greenhouse twice a day as it's sooo hot already

Some of my poor tulips have baked in their pots and they've had it! It was 26' yesterday and no rain for weeks......and none forecast.
Global warming? Will we have to change the stuff we grow to suit a different climate? Scary.....

Had a light sprinkle here  in N/west Ireland overnight but nothing to do any good to the land really but every little helps

only bad bit is that we have the potential for frost o/night during the week
