There's a light shower as I type. If it would continue as a light shower non stop for three days followed by a gentle sunny day with no wind that would be very nice.

We've had some promising thunder here in Essex, but no rain drops yet.  I really hope we get a decent downpour - digging in dry earth has not been fun!

It was thundering for about 2 hours here earlier with no rain - then an hour or so ago it started

I was hoping it would be a downpour but alas not - sun is back out and a gorious evening over Wakefield.

Sun all day till about 3pm then clouded over with thunder rumbling. Started to rain at 4pm, and boy did it come down. Lasted for about 45 mins. Even had hail stones for about 10 mins. Went to lottie at 6.30 to close up greenhouse and soil looks great. Nice and dark. Wonder for how long.

Hammered it down in Sheffield. My poor salad crop has been pounded flat by the heavy rain and hail. We did need it as the plot was a dust bowl and although we pay for water the council is in an argument with the water board about who pays for a leak to be fixed so in the meantime us plotholders have not had our water turned on!

Not all of Sheffield was that lucky/unlucky!

Despite all the crashing and banging we got the grand total of 1mm in Norton Lees (1/25th of an inch in old money and it's all dried off now!)   :(

We had thunder and a light shower on Friday, some thunder and a few spots of rain yesterday evening but nothing else.  This is supposed to be a Bank Holiday weekend, so where's all the rain gone??
