[bantam novice]

Hello there,

one of my bantams has just gone broody and I am going to sit her on fertile eggs.  I have her quarters set up and will be collecting the eggs today.

My first question is should she still be eating layers pellets?  I have some mixed corn that I can give her.  Is there some other food that I need to get?

My second question is about chick crumbs.  I bought a large bag last year in hope but no chicks arrived.  The date on them is 10th Nov 2010.  I think I should just throw them out and get new.

I have sprayed and cleaned and anti-mited the coop.  Will it be alright to spray broody hen with Johnson's anti-mite as a precaution?

firstly yes throw the chick crumb away - the vitamins will be out of date.
I feed my broodies on layers until the chicks hatch then they eat the chick crumb with the chicks.
Broodies are prone to lice as they just sit still for most of the day and night and can get run down so yes treat her (I use frontline as prescribed by my vet and spray this in between the shoulder blades where she cant reach to preen).
