I have access to some nice fresh steaming horse manure but want to know how long do i have to keep it before being able to use it on the lottie?

Got to my lottie this afternoon and found some kind farmer had left about 1 ton of the brown steeming stuff outside my gate.
It should be ready to use in about 6 months.
The pile I had today is the third delivery in as many weeks. It only costs a fiver a load and some of it is already fairly well on its way to being usable.
Just pile it high and cover it up to keep it nice and warm

Lucky you. It's great finding your own personal stash of the smelly stuff. I've got a supply and I'm going to start taking piles of the fresh stuff this year and rotting it down at the plot. I'll have to build another compound for my manure stash. Another project eh.

this thing about fresh or not!!

i have loads of manure, as much as i want from my friends farm[ not a working farm just grazing fields]

i have built a box to store it in,but still put on when its pretty fresh also, its not like i am putting seeds into or really fresh plants on the stuff,  so over the year it will rot down around the pants any how,i do tend to mix it in also! 

other posts on this site say that its no problem putting down the fresh stuff, just being carfull when and with what stuff it goes on
