I have 22 planted in containers in the greenhouse and already the first shoots are poking through. I like to try and get the first new tatties in May when they cost an arm and a leg in the shops but the main planting outside won't happen till mid to late March depending on the weather. If this year is like last I'll still be out with the fleece in May.

In my humble opinon, the Good Friday maxim is a load of nonsense as it can vary by nearly by 5 weeks over the course of years. This year it's very late at April 22nd, which is about 5 weeks later than Aidy's St. Patrick's day.

sorry DD that echo is getting worse 

as posted earlier good friday is very late this year....22nd April!
so if you're planting any early spuds they won't be ready untill beginning of july.......not very early
