Do beans cross polinate ?

If I have some runner beans, and some french beans, will they cross polinate together ?

I grew them next to each other last year and they were fine, so i dont think so :)

Ahem.

I grew purple climbing French beans (Violet podded stringless), next to Enorma runners.

Here's what was planted next year as a green Enorma.



I also ended up with green climbing French beans, climbing French beans with red flowers, not purple.......................................

It's only a potential problem if you seed save.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

OK, I'm planning to grow cobra french beans next to moonlight runner beans, so even if they do cross then it shouldn't cause too many problems.

It's only a potential problem if you seed save.

It wont cause any problems at all if you're just eating the beans this year. It would only cause you a problem if you save the beans and replant them as seeds next year.
