Following Broad Beans
« on: February 18, 2011, 10:40 »
Working on the patch plan this year I need to follow my Broadys with something. Last year I tried courgettes but the plant didn't yield even one. The bed is 3x8 and to the south east of the patch but doesn't get morning sun due to a wall to the south.

Ideas or inspiration - Would a copy of the plan help ?

No salads etc please, because of next doors cats.

Leeks?
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I was looking at getting the leeks in earlier, I've not done very well with them the last few years and I think its because they're going in late.

Beans fix nitrogen in the soil so I would suggest brassicas such as cabbages, late broccoli, winter caulis.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.
