Im sure they wont keep you waiting too long now. The days getting longer will help, also they might not be quite as old as you think they are.

One of mine waited 30 weeks before giving me an egg. They will lay when they're ready, just give them time.  Are they being fed on layers pellets?

have their combs got bigger and redder yet? These change are a sign of imminent eggs  :D
Staffies are softer than you think.

Have they started to curtsy yet.  Sure sign eggs are on the way.  Mine have been broody and moulting and haven't laid an egg between them for nearly 2 weeks but when I said goodnight tonight, Cilla curtsied. Yahoo !!!  :D  :D

Great news  :)
How are you going to cook the eggs?

Planning how to cook and eat those first eggs must be one of the most exciting times in a chicken-keeping career!

I recommend gently fried eggs.  They will be too fresh to hard-boil as the white will come away with the shell.  By frying them in just a tiny bit of butter you will see the beautiful colour of the yolk and admire how it stands in the middle of the white.

Of course you could blow the eggs and keep the shells as a souvenir!  :)

The colour of the yolk can be chicken dependent.  All my girls (the four of them *sigh*) all have exactly the same diet, and one of them still lays eggs with much pler yolks compared to the other three.

Having said that, dark green veggies can help to increase the depth of the colour; so giving them spinach, savoy cabbage or kale might help :)
