Yup.  Yesterday I froze a bucket full, some chopped for soup/stews and some in wedges for roasting.  I blanch for about a minute for the wedges (well, if I was cooking from raw I would par boil before roasting) and don't bother for the chopped.  They are wonderfully convenient to be able to pull out the freezer and off you go.

Beware - doing that many will leave you with hands dyed a subtle shade of orange and the orange-y brown nails of the heavy smoker!   What am I going to do about work tomorrow???    :(

I always freeze parsnips.

No need to thaw - out of the freezer into the pan with the roast potatoes.

That's what is sooooooo annoying!  Everyone makes mistakes and the key thing is to learn the lesson.   ::) I did the same thing last year and duh!  have I learnt anything!!      Only last night did I realise what I had done ...   :(

It's basil for me.  I nip the leaves off with my thumbnails and they are stained with basil juice all summer.

Perhaps we can start a new nail fashion. Instead of the French Manicure that was popular a few years ago (and so impractical in the garden!) everyone can have Garden Manicures.  That's where the tips of your nails are carefully painted to look like they have mud under them.  After all this self-sufficiency thing is very fashionable at the moment.
