One of my fellow plot holders used to bring his cigars to smoke as he wasn't allowed to have them.  He always constructed a big runner bean frame and put his chair behind it so his wife wouldn't spot him smoking if she stuck her head through the gate to shout him to come home for lunch   Sadly he's had to give up his plot now due to old age and ill health.

I also had a local plumber round who was a retired chap doing odd jobs for pocket money and he told me when his wife nagged he went down to his allotment with a bottle of red wine to get away from it all

I'd love to have put a sticky out tongue here but being a duffer at this computing lark when I clicked on it I got some gobbeldygook text instead.

You mean like  ":tongue2:" or ":P"

If so that is correct (and will display either a short or long tongue respectively when you either preview or post.)

Not that I should be encouraging such rude behaviour of course!  :tongue2:  :tongue2:

But you must also make sure there is a space after the last part of the icon text, or it won't display as an icon but just as the text.

this is one of the tongue icons  :Pwithout a space
this is the same tongue icon  :tongue2: with a space after it
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Much the same as all of you...sandwiches, tea, biscuits, gloves, indelible pen and labels, string, seeds, plastic bags, diary, camera (pics for my blog) Fleece/netting depending on what I'm planting. Toys for kids if they come along.
Sure am missing the rollups though! I gave up 5 years ago, but it would be a perfect place to have one after a good digging session ::)

I should point out that although I smoke on the plot I would'nt dream of puffing in the greenhouse or shed (Hives of industry you see) and might count as a place of work.

I'll do it for you then...  :tongue2:  :tongue2:  :tongue2:  :tongue2:

How's that?

Notebook and pencil

Laptop, spreadsheet & expensive software.

(Shouldn't have said that, should I?)
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Radio for listening to the footie
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.
