hi all can anyone tell me why the chickens up the farm and my mates chickens are still laying and  mine dropped off before chrismass   13 hens and only getting prob 3 a week

it depends on the age and breed of the chickens and also does the farm have artificial lighting?

not sure about the lighting and al mine are were POL in august last year so there still young

hI,  we've only got 5 chicks but the last few weeks have only been getting 1,2 or sometime 3 eggs a day, the same as this time last year but this last week we've been getting 3 most days and sometimes 4 and we put it down to the fact the days are now  - just about  - getting a little longer.  Egg laying does depend on a lot of different factors, light being one of them so hopefully you will get more eggs the nmext week or so.  We also up the green feed for them - we can usually find someone with spare cabbages or Kale and find this helps with the laying.  good luck :happy:
