OH and I have just had some mussels for lunch and we had a few left over. 
I don't know if they would like them or not and would like to try , as long as they will not harm them,  There was no salt used in cooking them.

I have tried searching the web, but only found recipes with chicken and mussels!

As far as chooks are concerned cooked mussels are just another tasty snail (minus the crunchy bits)

Well I have just got back from giving it a try, thank you all.

I put them in their treat dish with the shells on and they weren't fussed at all, so started to take them out of their shells and held them out, still no takers, but on throwing a few for them there was chaos, hens flying everywhere, grabbing them and running off with them, even this years chicks held their own ( although they are now almost full size but know their place!)


I will let you know if there are any ill effects!!
