i was looking through RHS magazine the garden Jan 2011 there was a newly developed broccoli F, Apollo' a cross between broccoli' and Chinese kale

i looked at the same sort of thing in another seed catalogue this variety was called F1 Striccoli

they look more of a calabrese type to me but ime thinking of growing some although the  seed is a bit expensive what do you think is it worth a try

Being a bit old-fashioned I would stick to the conventional broccoli - I have never found anything to rival the taste of "Corvet" green broccoli, although for sopme reason it is hard to find. I always go for flavour rather than the hyped-up F1 things, although I stand corrected on here.

any idea where you can get the seed as Ive searched around via google with no luck......

Having just done a bit of Googling, it appears that as often happens with F1's, it's been replaced with a variety called "Samson". This is available from numerous sources.
