Duck pond to ground ratio

Hi all - I'm currently building a new improved duck run complete with filtered pond etc.  We have about 8' x 6' run area (the house will sit outside the run) for three ducks.  I'm just wondering how big to make the pond and thus how much run space to leave on the ground for them.

They're Khaki Campbells.
