Thanks so much everyone. The thing is that on this board, you just know that everyone means their kind words.
Im still fighting back the tears. The house is so quiet without our boy, he would talk to us and the cats whenever they passed his box. They have been looking for him this morning. Ive just told the hens, whilst cleaning them out. They have been a bit ignored lately, so it will have to be treats all round for them later. OH is still very upset too, a big grown man too.I just hope that Ill start to feel better in a day or so. Ive been unable to concentrate on anything today, so the housework has gone to pot!!
Thanks again, you lovely lot!

Hi Mary, there are more important things than house work. two of my favourite sayings are "dull women have immaculate houses" and "when Im dead some other woman will be worrying about the dust in this house, so today im going to do what I want to do"

hope you feel better soon, as for Monty he will be in Chookie heaven now surrounded by nubile broody chicks wanting his attention!

Love Jools

Thankyou so much everyone, you are so lovely.
I can now think of my boy without welling up, which is a good sign and although we had planned to wait until the spring to get another cockerel, we cant. We would like a light Sussex boy if we can get one, Ill have to get on the phone in my best french to see if my supplier has one. I want to choose one, so they will all have to be lined up for inspection!!Only the best for my girls, I dont want a minger, or they wont let him near them. More Brad Pitt, less Russell Brand I think!!

Aah yes, how could I have forgotten Johnny Depp? If I were looking for an older bird, it would deffinitely be Mark Harmon (from NCIS). He is just sex on legs.

Ive got to have a special boy to take Monty's place as he was a real one-off. Im sure Ill know when Ive found the right one, then Ill have to work out how to post the piccie on the board.
