Why do these things happen at the weekends when the vets are shut. I am really seeking some advice for my 16 week old Apenzeller Spithauben who keeps collpasing. She looked off colour yesterday with a big puffed out chest and her comb was droppy. She keeps shutting her eyes and her left wing has really dropped. Today when I let them out she is walking like she is drunk and her legs gkeep giving way and collapsing underneath her, she is all over the place.

Can anyone suggest what is wrong or any remedies. Poor thing

Hi, I've just been looking in a book I've got at the illness section (doing research for my own birds), when I read a bit about Mareks disease. I don't know and can't remember all the ins and outs but the main jist is it causes lamness in one leg which can then lead to droopiness in the wings. As I say, I can't remember everything it says so it may be worth you doing some research quickly.

Can't offer much by way of advice but just wanted to wish you luck.
 It may help if you can tell us
Is she eating, drinking and poohing?
Does she have a temperature?  You can  tell this by feeling under the wing of one of your well girls then under her wing to see if she feels hotter.
Have you wormed your hens?
