My cucumber plants had red spider mites on them. I've just chopped the plants down (I'm going to burn them), but what should I do with the canes and the compost they were growing in? Is it OK to chuck the compost back on the compost heap? And is there any way of clearing the little blighters out of my greenhouse, before they get a chance to infest my new plants in the spring?
