My village show was yesterday and it was my first year of entering, quite pleased.
3 pears on a plate  2nd
1 marrow                2nd
3 tomatoes             2nd
2 courgettes           1st
3 potatoes              1st
5 runner beans       1st
Photography           2nd
1 cabbage               3rd

and to top it all off the beans won best exhibit in show.
