Ageing Chickens
« on: August 14, 2010, 14:57 »
Hello everyone. Does anyone know if there is an accurate way of ageing chickens? I know you can have a rough guess by looking at the legs - since when they molt their feathers they also molt leg scales, but unlike feathers these don't actually fall off, they just appear raised which can be confused with scaley leg mite. Thing is this doesn't tell you the exact age. Is there any way of knowing or is it just guess work?

Only if you know the date of hatching.
Staffies are softer than you think.
