Faverolles

Hi, I was wondering when our hens will start to lay?  They are now 27 weeks old and no sign of eggs yet.  We bought these Faverolles from a reputable supplier and we chose these as they are lovely and quiet.  They are really lovelly birds, but we are becoming impatient for eggs.

Hi niknik, often pure breeds won't lay until they are around the 30 week age (and some do not lay at all - 1 of mine at over a year old never has and Grannie Annie had one who only started to lay at over 2 years old  ::)). The majority though will lay somewhere between 22 and 35 weeks of age. I'm afraid you will just have to be patient  :)
Staffies are softer than you think.
