Climbing French Bean Leaves are Yellow
« on: July 20, 2010, 19:47 »
Leaves on most of my climbing French bean have gone yellow with some brown blotches. Can't say I have noticed them before, so I reckon this has happened in the last couple of day.

They have been watered well a couple of times a week

In pots or the ground?

Feeding?
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Brown marks look a bit like scorch perhaps

They are in the ground, a double-row growing up a bamboo frame - got well past the top and trailing down etc.  Starting picking just a few days ago.

Re scorch : it was pretty windy here for a couple of days recently, could that be it ?

I haven't fed them (other than a trench of well rotted manure that they were planted into)

It'll be the wind...my cobra beans look like that and they still haven't started climbing properly, because it has been so windy :(

Makes sense, thanks MOS. The leaves did look a bit sort of "wilted" just after the rain wind. Anything I should do to help them recover? I've got a seaweed foliar feed somewhere here I think, any good?

Edit: Not rain you senior-moment twit, it was the wind!

Mine have exactly the same problem, I was about to post the same question. They're in a raised bed, and everything else in the same bed is doing just fine. I noticed that the new leaves look normal though so it might be the wind...
