hello again , im sure this has been cobered a thousand times in here ,

can i compost the stalks and leaves of potato plants after i have dug up my spuds ,

You will probably get the same two answers:

1) If there is any risk that either the roots, stalks or leaves of any of them have suffered from any of the many infections or pests potatoes are prone to then "no".

2) Others say they always compost them and have never had any problems!

3) Of course there is always the saying that if you ask two gardeners the same question you will get 3 different answers!

(Me: I have eelworm on my plot and also some blackleg for the first time this year, so for me it's a "no".)

If you are sure that they are disease free then compost them.....but can you be sure :unsure:
