White patches on Basil
« on: July 06, 2010, 09:47 »
I am growing basil in pots and I am noticing white sugary patches on the leaves. As if they have been thinned with a tissue like structure left. I am also noticing white fly on one of the plants. How can this be ? I grew them inside. I also thought basil plants are supposed to repel white fly. Bang goes that theory then !

Mine were covered by white / green fly / aphids last year.  Ended up giving up.  Mine were also indoors, but on kitchen windowsill so probably got in through open window.  As for the spots, could it not be sun scorch - I found basil gets scorched after watering really easily.  Big softie of a herb ::)
