I've just ordered 10 plants from Van Meuwen so we'll see what they say about stock levels.

Couldn't find a way to squash 30 plants into 4' x 3'  ::)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I don't think either site is saying out of stock on barerooted plants. I think they're just saying they'll despatch them by end August because the best time to plant barerooted plants is September, according to the instructions on the Van Meuwen site. My current rows of strawberries certainly aren't 30" apart. More like a jungle, really. Wonder if that's why a lot of the fruit is small and seedy this year.

DD Just checked on the price - they are 99p cheaper than T & M for 12 plants, but that won't bother you with all those runners.  Mmmm should you cut them off or let them grow - that is the question.

According to T & M I need a licence to propagate them, so I'll cut them off and throw them away into a small hole.

Mine seemed to have wondered too close to some pots of earth that were sitting next to the strawberry bed - before I knew it they'd made themselves at home!!!

I tried to tell them to keep away but they haven't listened  ;)

Strwaberries today just don't listen do they  :tongue2:

Just to make sure I would stamp my foot all around them then drown them with as much water as you can find. If any survive to next year make sure you remove any fruits that develop before they seed everywhere.

Good idea, and just to make sure nothing survives any possible next generation fruit, I'll drown those in stomach acid.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
