Pinching out Runner beans
« on: June 27, 2010, 23:15 »
Sorry if this has been asked a thousand times.....

Am i meant to pinch out the growing tip once the it reaches the top of my poles? It's only that my poles are a little short (6') and i want as many beans as poss! I let the tips go wild last year running all along the horizntal poles but have no idea if this is a good or bad idea!!

Pinching out the tops should make the plants bushier, and this is the way I favour.  It's each to his own. ;)
