Fruit all munched
« on: June 24, 2010, 11:22 »
My fruit bushes are fruiting this year for the first time and I have a mesh cage round them to keep the air born predators off them.  Imagine my dispair when I realised that the fruit stems had been stripped bear.  I suspect the little mouse that I see at my hen run has been helping itself.

Sadly, things sometime slip through. Suggest you install either some metal strips, about 4-6" high down into the soil all around the base of the cage. It's a fuss but if you don't your mouse will continue to burrow through and gorge. Wouldn't recommend plastic as they'll easily eat through that.
