i remember many moons go that my grand father used to throw all the used tea leaves onto his veg etc...........is this a recognised thing and should i save all the old tea bags

 I add them to the compost heap, sometimes the bags don't disintegrate fully, but I never think it's a problem to pull a few out

all ours go in the compost, so dose the used coffe grounds and just about anything els the chickens dont eat (could probly count that on one hand).

In the good old days, before teabags, the loose leaves were good for mulch and soil conditioner. Worms love 'em!
