ok help needed please.

i have red barron and white fen early onions in the ground, and some/most have a little white maggot inside? also they are looking a bit deformed, what is it?  i know roughly guys,  what i am after is the after care of them now, what is best for me to do? take them all up and burn or leave the better ones and hope for the best with them??  thanks

If it's onion fly, which it sounds like, there is no cure. You have to burn the affected onions. I have had it but only found one onion affected thankfully.

A If there is no other land available you could re-sow or replant, as long as you are sure you have removed the infested plants before the maggots pupate. It is safest to re-sow or plant elsewhere, protecting the new crop with horticultural fleece or insect-proof mesh.

you can grow in the same place next year .treat with pirimiphos-methyl . just before planting burn all traces of the ones you have now,as they will not do anything
