The only weeds I have are hiding under the netting.... they appear to like the security behind bars

If you do fancy using net curtains- making your plot look very swish - you can pick them up quite cheap in the charity shops.

That's where some of mine came from Spana  but don't buy the 'posh' lacy ones....on some of them the holes are too big

Ah it's only weed-free cos after I dug that bit in early spring I put the black matting back over it to stop any more coming up!!
They'll be back, I'm sure.  I have a thistle invasion elsewhere on the plot.  I'm sure they appear every time I turn my back.
