Will they still grow?
« on: June 13, 2007, 15:12 »
Last night i discovered to my horror that the bane of my life had struck again!.  The local deer had paid the allotment another visit and my pea plants were on the menu.  They were only about 1ft high and all the tops have been nibbled off.

My assumption is its a start again job? They aint growing up! but will they bush out and still produce peas?

Sweet peas will certainly grow bushier after tops are nipped out.  Worth leaving them in but do also resow if you've got space.

sorry to here about your peas, we are having a problem with mice we think!!! everything has got nets over, plus staked them down but there are holes in the soil and what appears to be a small tunnel running all the way down the row. Out of 2 rows of peas we have got 7 left. Setting traps tomorrow.

If you soak your peas in paraffin before you sow them, the mice leave them alone
