Hi Everyone,

I've introduced three new (just past POL) Black Rock hens. Unfortunately the huge Rhode islands we have our bullying away and some of the Black Rock's have been injured (limping now)

How can I minimise the damage when Introducing these new hens?

Hia, did you sperate them but allow them to be seen for a few days before putting them together?

No I didn't have the space to separate them away from each other I'm afraid!

you should keep them seperate them for a couple of weeks in case the new birds have any infections. This is to protect your original birds.

I know what you mean about the space, I'm having to wait to reintroduce 2 of mine until I can make an attached seperate run. Unfortuantely its in their nature to attack new comers as they have an established pecking order. You could try anti pecking spray which may discourage them.  I have read that you could rub a garlic clove onto all of the chickens so they all smell the same they said it worked.  Good luck x
