My onions which were growing great are being attacked and eaten at. I thought slugs at first and put a gritty barrier around them (which has kept them off other veg) but went back and things were even worse. There are a lot of snails in the area. Are tyhey they more likely pest. There are slime trails on the ground and the foliage so it must be one or the other. If snails how do I keep them off? Dont want to lose them as they are one of the few things that seemed to be doing really well.  :cry:

Tried organic slug pellets ? slug pubs ? nematodes will kill em but a bit of a pricey option.

Going to try a slug trap but will it work for snails?

If your making your own out of a plastic bottle, just make the entrance holes larger snails love beer.

or put up a little hook for them to put their shells on when they go in for a beer.
