Very excited
« on: April 15, 2010, 11:15 »
Ok it's sad but I know you will all understand lol.

Ok so on the back of a magazine a while back there were dwarf fruit trees with a free cherry tree with every order well I ordered a nectarine tree and when they both arrived the nectarine tree was lovely and in flower but the cherry tree was more of a erm ...... stick! The instructions were to give it a drink and remove any yellow leaves! My friend and I had a good giggle as there were no leaves let alone yellow ones lol.

Anyhow I planted them both and today have noticed that the cherry tree has some buds coming woohooo I am so excited long way of fruit but hey a step closer just hope the kids dont kill it with their balls grrrrrr.

I know.

I don't think I've ever seen anything less inspiring than a fresh out of the box bare rooted cordon cherry tree.  My words were "Oh.  I just paid £12 for two sticks".

After two years mine are budding like mad right now and I expect a flurry of blossom in the next couple of weeks.

I don't have to worry about football damage on my plot but it's still pretty cold down in Essex, I might yet have to pop a fleece over the trees to protect the buds from a cheeky late frost.

The trees are at home in pots so I have to worry about my children and the neighbours children bless them  ??? still in the event of a frost I will oik them back into the house lol.
