what eats bean seeds?

hi my missus planted runner bean seeds and we got nothing grow when we finaly decided to examine one of the seeds to see what happened we found the seeds were infested with what looked like tiny centipedes what are these creatures and do they only eat seeds or will they munch plants also? :?

centipedes are predatory ie.  eat other animals (very small ones  :roll: )

What you've found are millipedes probably the Spotted Snake Millipede (Blaniulus guttulatus).

How old were the seeds?
Old bean seeds have quite a high failure rate and just rot in the ground
