We have a Stellar/Stella?  It is a lovely tree and produces a small crop that we enjoy eating.  It does need netting though!  If we do not net then the birds pick off every last cherry.  :(

also, a cherry tree does indeed attract the birdies, so you could end up with a lot of poo in that area!!
small, Welsh and almost certainly bonkers, but can be tamed with Talisker, if required

Try Morello,- the birds do not attack the fruits and they are nice to eat once ripe :tongue2:

Is that true about birds not going for Morello? I got one last year, you see and that would be very good news indeed!  :)

I have just planted morello and stellar on the allotment, side by side to be trained on rails, so I will do a bird survey!
I hoe, I hoe, it's off to weed I go.

the Morello tree has been in my partner's back garden for 6 years and bird damage is yery low.  The fruits are quite bitter until very ripe and Black birds do not touch them,

Sweet cherries like Stella will be stripped in a week!!  That is my experience for what its worth!!
