Onion seedlings
« on: March 19, 2010, 09:13 »
I'm trying to grow onions from seed this year and fear i may have messed up.

I think i've left them in the cells way too long and think they've checked and now going backwards. A few leaves have gone yellow which I know isn't the best of signs.

Are you supposed to pot on? If so when? And how?

Looks like sets it is than this year.   ::)
Top tip for camping....don't go.

Harden them off if they are inside and then get them into the ground.  They are usually pretty hardy so you might be lucky.  I grow mine in a seed tray and seperate them once they are the size of a match stick.  Mine usually go outside from Mid March - in the past they have worked very well and been as good as sets (if not better)
