hi, my bag of onion sets are all different sizes.wil the small ones produce small onions&the large ones bigger onions? or is there no rule.because when you set them there's no way you can remember which was which!!

i like to grade them to uniform size before planting.

I'd like to know the answer too - with regard to shallot bulbs.

I'm going to plant them small to large, I'll know which end of the row had the small bulbs and which had the large, so when I harvest hopefully I'll know which to look for next year.

Thats the plan anyway.

I don't know for sure but I think I was told that larger ones tend to bolt so it's better to have smaller. No doubt someone else will have a clearer idea.
