aconitum problem

Hello, I'm new to the forum - introduced to this site by my allotment-mad sister.  I don't have one yet, but it's  on the cards.
Every year my monkshood comes into bud but the flowers seem to wither and die off.  Not sure if this is a disease or a pest.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Hi

I had a similar problem with my Aconitum. It never really flowered or started and the flowers died off. I think the problem was that the soil was too dry, especially in summer. Aconitum likes moist soil. In its natural habitat you can find for example Aconitum napellus often on moist soil near small streams. So after I moved my Aconitum to a place with moist soil it thrived.
