ADVICE NEEDED A.S.A.P. please!

Hi Guy, We were struck with a frost last night that was not forecast!!! At the result my beans and spuds took a battering,
Any advice on how to proceed with them spuds more so????

Beans are almost certainly dead.

Potatoes will recover without any action on your part.

Yes, spuds will probably recover if they have been well earthed up and the ground has not frozen.

But beans - sow some more - in pots in a sheltered place, then plant 'em out. Sow some more direct about a week later. Beans hatch very quickly now that the earth is warmer, and if you sow in succession you don't get millions of beans all at once. (That's what she does)

Before you plant your beans(if its not to late) pour a few kettle fulls of very hot but not boiling water into the trenches.This will warm the soil and give them a better start.And do not worry they will soon catch up with everyone elses . :D
