Could it be my first little duck egg?
« on: February 24, 2010, 19:44 »
I found a tiny little speckled brown egg this afternoon in the middle of the garden! I'm assuming it's the first from my new little mini silver appleyards.  All my chucks have been laying for months, apart from my Suffolk Noir, Rosie, but this egg was very tiny, about the size of small pebble.  All my other hybrids first eggs have been smallish but not as tiny as this. Can anybody shed any light? I'll take a photo and attach if I can work out how!!

sounds like it could be a wind egg - did you crack it open - wind eggs (also known as fart eggs or cock eggs) have either no yolk or just a little speck of yellow.  :)
Staffies are softer than you think.

i never knew what they were called joy! I've had a few of there lately myself but I think it has come from one of new POL's I hatched last year before she gets into the hang of laying.

These were just full of egg white.
