And I thought I was the only one! Still at least we'll be ready when spring finally comes.;)

spent 5 hours on the plot today - got sunburnt and I look like a dried out beetroot lol! anyhow, loads to do, and it is getting lighter!  8)  8)  8)
Now then, I am a very pleasant lad from York.  I have a decent half plot on Holgate allotments.

I find myself popping down most days, if not to do anything then just to check how the fruit bushes/trees, raspberries etc are budding.
I found myself down the plot at 8.30 this morning in the hope of planting some more broad beans (heavy snow got alot of the autumn planted ones), the ground was so frozen though that I gave up, spent half an hour in the grenhouse examining my leek and onion seedlings instead

Far too cold to be sowing anything up here so I thought I'd mix up some potting compost and put into tubs to warm up in the greenhouse prior to planting some spuds. I have the contents of the daleks all bagged up so I upended one bag and the compost came out in one frozen solid lump. Ah, well....time for a sit down and a cup of tea

Know the feeling - how many times do you check whether your seeds have sprouted yet and how the chitting potatoes are progressing???? ::)

Keep your spades in the shed and wait until you can see the whites of your potatoe eyes! Rub the first lot off, wait another few weeks and it might be time to plant them!  :tongue2:

Had a great 3 hours yesterday tidying up the plot, digging over, getting ready, wanted to do the same today but woke up this morning to rain (but at least we don't have snow).

Can't wait for spring!!!

I know the feeling,
Its like most things in life, the nearer it gets the worse it becomes.

I was chatting to the bloke next to my allotment, when i noticed two lines on his allottment where his spuds are going.
Turns out his wife thinks that cause they say earlies they go in early. he got fed up with the nagging and put them in.

He said they have two chances,"no chance" is the only one i can say. lol
Now thats impatience
