I was feeding my hens their afternoon corn-treat yesterday when I noticed that one of my young cream legbar hens was acting strangely.  She was going through the motions of pecking - head going up and down - but her beak wasn't actually reaching the ground.  I picked her up and her crop was empty (her sister's crop was full to bursting) and she was very docile.  I've moved her indoors and gave her access to food and water.  I tried hand feeding and she made contact with my hand but was a bit hit and miss whether she picked up any food.  I'm really quite worried about her. 

Has anyone seen this before please and/or does anyone have any suggestions?

She is otherwise in good health, worm and lice free, bright eyes and no sign of a cold/illness.

Have you had a look in her throat for gape worm or even thrush perhaps?
I am only just guessing not saying that it will be that.
In order to get some food into her get a syringe and make a gruel up of her food mixed with warm water. Also give her plenty of fluids. I would take her to a vets if she was mine just to be sure.
