morning all,

just getting ready to order some goodies for the forthcoming growing year.

last year i planted spuds that had started sprouting in my pantry!!  the result was small salad size spuds - has anyone else done this before?

Apart from the disease factor there is a condition called 'Small potato disease'.

I believe this is caused by seed potatoes stored for long periods at high temperetures. Lots of marble sized potatoes i.e. some found at the back of the cupboard.

Seed spuds are only a little bit dearer (from the likes of Wilko)  than buying a couple of bags of eating spuds from Tesc@......it's just not worth the risk is it

just been to a shop called home bargains....never heard of it before - all their onion sets, spuds etc are half price 99p instead of 2quid!!

seems like a bargain.....

they have

asparagus
about 10 different varieties of spuds
garlic
shallots
etc
etc
