Do Pekins take longer to come into lay than other breeds? I have a 45 wk and 35 wk old hens who are showing no sign of laying. Does anyone know about Pekins as this is the first time I have had this breed?

we have just taken 2 girls in both a year old ,one was laying the other laid her first egg today! :)so i wouldnt worry too much ,the one that was laying gives us an egg most days

 It is already about a hour or so lighter now each day, so I am hoping that it will be soon!
What colour eggs do Pekin's lay?

I also have a Wyandotte (40 wks) with obscenely red wattles who also isn't laying either!

mine lay creamy coloured eggs not tiny either but obviously not as big as my other girls not sure what i was expecting

I hatched my first pekins in September.......They are 26 weeks old and have just started to squat down. My Buff orpington banties (same age) have started laying this week.
