the main part should be their layers pellets which should be available all day. In the late afternoon you can give them just a small treat of mixed corn, or a couple of meal worms, sunflower hearts, or tomatoes, grapes, raw or cooked veg - potatoe should always be cooked - but treats are not necessary really. Take a look at the chicken sections - both the chicken chat and the hen house where you will find loads of information about keepuing and feeding birds and welcome to the wonderful world of chicken keeping  :D

Most chooks love greens as well particularly Kale and cabbage.  Hang a cabbage in the pen it won't last long

I gave mine some apple  pieces and some cabbage hanging up today.  They thought the apple was great  :D didn't think much of the cabbage though :(

Mine refuse most treats and even corn they are so-so about. Give them leftover pasta though and they would battle down the back door to get some more from you  ::) They only get pasta here at worming time as I mix the flubenvet into it - but after seven days they are still sat at the back door waiting and wondering why they can't have anymore  The other one they go a little mad for is tomatoes - but that is more the ducks who seem to think tomatoes are the best food ever created and can devour the lot in seconds!
