runner bean leaves yellowing

the plants are still growing but the leaves are going a yellow colour, when we prepared the trench we put loads of horse manure in so it shouldn't be lack of food. any ideas?

I think they may be feeling the cold, did you harden them off before planting out.
You could try covering them with fleece to protect from the cold wind etc.

i thought that might be it, i did harden them off. on of the other allotment holder seems to think its because they need feeding but i dont think it is. i might just leave them and see what happens, i've got some more that should be up soon

we had this with our runner beans but it was due to the fact of them needing a feed to help them so cant help much really
by the time i am old and grey i might be 100% organic

Probably the cold / windy conditions but perhaps NB has a point - would the roots have got down to the manure yet?

Only if you put the manure very deep.  Cold is more likely.
