What type, when do you plant, where do plant  them and how do you look after them through the autumn and winter?
If you cant be a good example then you must  be a horrrible warning........

To sit on the fence is not an option

I asked the man from T&M (Colin Randel - he really knows his potatoes - might be able to email him at T&M?) this question at a potato day in February, and I have a note in my diary that tells me to plant my 2nd crop during the last week in August.

I was intending to plant in bottomless plastic dustbin in the middle of a corrugated iron L shaped bay (I have lots of those), surround with stable straw (I have lots of this), keep protection over plants as long as possible, then keep straw over top until dug out.

An early potato like charlotte or international kidney.

I'm sure Colin Randel said T&M keep these in cool storage and they become available again later in the year (if you don't want to re-use your own).

I reckon you couldn't replant this year's tubers & expect them to grow in August.  They need a prolonged period of dormancy before they will re-sprout.   You could put some in your fridge now & desprain them a couple of times.  Or buy from T&M

i was thinking about this also- as any i accidentaly leave in ground dont come up til the next spring, but what about buy a few  new potatoes from supermarket, keep in fridge till planted out in april, may fool them into sprouting
